Future of the Forests Partnership Summit

Chautauqua Community House, Boulder, Colorado

June 16-18, 2025

2025 Summit

In a time marked by growing uncertainty, the call for innovation and collaboration has never been more urgent. As agencies and organizations navigate funding cuts, workforce reductions, program realignments, and shifting priorities, we believe there is a powerful opportunity to come together—intentionally, strategically, and with purpose.

Overview

To advance this essential conversation, Coalitions and Collaboratives will host an exclusive, invite-only summit. In partnership with Meryl Harrell (former USDA Deputy Undersecretary for Natural Resources and the Environment) and other key collaborators—and with generous support from the Argosy Foundation—this two-day gathering will convene top national leaders from across sectors to explore the future of forest health, wildfire resilience, investment, and collaboration.

This nonpartisan convening will address a wide array of critical topics related to wildfires and forest and watershed health—offering a unique platform for visionary leadership to identify solutions and forge new pathways toward more diversified, durable, and community-driven support for forest and community resilience.

The U.S. Forest Service stewards 193 million acres of public land—land that is critical not only to the environment but also to the people, economies, and ecosystems that depend on it. Together with tribes, states, local governments, private landowners, community-based organizations, conservation groups, academic institutions, and others, this work requires shared responsibility and bold, collective leadership.

This summit will not only honor the contributions of Forest Service employees and their expansive network of partners—it will help chart the course for the future of public land stewardship in an era of compounding challenges and rising expectations.
